Shit, shit, shit. I really wanted to go to Gettysdope when I lived back east. Paul was one of the dopers I most looked forward to meeting. I went to a few other dopefests, but I was never fortunate enough to meet him. I know firsthand how terrible depression can be. What makes it even worse is that it seems so often to dim only the brightest of lights whose illumination means so much to the rest of us. ---

This saddens me greatly. **Bibliocat** , I know how hard it is to be a suicide ā€œsurvivorā€. Eleven years ago I lost a dear loved one when he took his own life. For years, I wondered what I could have done to save him, but finally realized that I couldnā€™t have done anything. Please donā€™t start to blame yourself. I was angry with him for a long time too. If you need any long distance support, donā€™t hesitate to PM me. Paul was a valued member of this board and will be missed. ---

I believe he was there for _me_ when I was going through my ā€œmeltdownsā€, and anyone who has helped me through my rough times and ā€œbeen thereā€ for me is a very precious friend.
