Interesting! I don’t agree with the basic thesis, but he’s right that the last quarter century worth of strips were pap. Not only did Schulz’s humor change after a number of mid-life crises, the “Golden Age” strips required a level of literacy (e.g., familiarity with Scripture, psychology, literature, spectator sports) that’s not so common nowadays. There were also historical links (e.g., the centennial of the Civil War, the '60s surfing culture, the early space program, the fiftieth anniversary of WWI, references to Bill Mauldin) that have little relevance to kids today. ---
