There’s a comic featuring Ed Wood ensemble acto Tor Johnson and pin up queen Betty Page. It’s called- Tor Love Betty. One page has Tor asking “Tor love Betty?” while picturing various women- Betty Page, Betty Rubble etc. The final panel is show Tor thinking of Betty Crocker and saying “Tor love Betty!” ---

OK, let’s take the South America thing. You’re referring, I think, to the fact that you imagine it as being directly south of North America, but all of the maps show it significantly further east than that, such that the entire continent is east of the longitude of Detroit. Your premise, as I understand it, is that Someone is capable of moving whole continents, and editing all of the records, on book, film, electronic files, etc., to match the now-moved continental positions. But for some reason, this Someone is either incapable or unwilling to similarly edit peoples’ memories, so folks still remember the original locations. Well, that’s an odd premise, but for the sake of argument, I’ll go with it, and therefore answer this based only on my own memories (because obviously, any non-memory cite I could find would also be edited), and see where that gets us. Memory one: It was first pointed out to me that all of South America is east of Detroit, some time in high school. That was back in the 1990s. So if this change did happen, it must have been some time before that. When do your memories of South America’s position date back to? If they were after the 90s, then you can’t possibly have been remembering the pre-change continent. Memory two: I remember learning in history class of the disputes between Spain and Portugal (at the time, the only two countries seriously in the exploration business) about who had claim to the New World. The dispute was settled by the Pope (the only authority both countries recognized), who chose a line of longitude, and decreed that any new lands found east of that line belonged to Portugal, and any west of that line belonged to Spain. Ah, but here’s the relevant part: Most of the Americas turn out to be west of that line, except that Brazil protrudes east of it. And so Portugal got claim to Brazil, but Spain got everything else. And here’s the kicker: That’s why Brazilians today speak Portugese, but Spanish is spoken everywhere else in Central and South America. And that’s something that this mysterious Someone didn’t change: We already said that Whoever it is doesn’t change memories, right? Well, how could you change what language millions of people speak, without changing their memories? Surely, they remember what language they used to speak, don’t they? ---
