# The Pirates!

Someone else must be reading these besides me. I just picked up “The Pirates! In an Adventure with Ahab” by Gideon defoe and it’s the funniest things I’ve ever read. It’s one of the few books that actually had me laughing out loud while reading it. So good that right afterwards I had to go out and pick up the previous one “The Pirates! In and Adventure with Scientists” which was just has hilarious.

I can easily see how a series like this can turn formulatic, and it will be interesting to see how he develops the characters if he decides to continue the series, but so far it’s the funniest thing I’ve ever read.

Anyone else?

I just read the Ahab one as well. It was very funny. Are these books for kids? The whale humping the ship was a bit dirty.

Which is your favorite pirate?

The Pirate Captain?  
The Pirate with the red scarf?  
The Albino?  
Jennifer?  
The Sassy Pirate?

I didn’t know there was a second book out, but I did read _An Adventure With Scientists_ and found it to be stupid funny. I’ll have to pick up the sequel.

Ever read George MacDonald Frasier’s _The Pyrates_? Also a very funny book with parrot-and-peg-leg related humor.
