“PC Crowd” :rolleyes: See, if you or someone you know or love doesn’t fit into any particular niche, then Political Correctness seems silly. You can just sit back all hunkdorry and snicker at it all. ---

Not sure what a “gayjacket” is, maybe you can enlighten us **Ludovic**. Of course the conservative right would think it was just a hoot, and the gay community would have no recourse as in, oh, getting married. ---

The idea that there _is_ a PC crowd is a myth. I’m generally sensitive to people’s feelings, I think. Most of the mental patients that I know, myself included, use humor as a way of coping. I don’t mind joking about it. It’s when people are flat out _ignorant_ that I am annoyed. When I was hospitalized ten years ago, several of us (middle-aged adults included) brought our teddy bears. I definitely want THIS one on hand just in case. ---

A person with a mental illness, (oops was that PC, sorry, a nutcase) is not the only one in the equation. We are all responsible to others as well as ourselves. When someone takes thier own life they forsake the feelings of those around them. But I digress. My point is, we who care, have a right to take offense at this sort of thing. And I mean we who care about those in our lives with mental illness. ---

Speaking as someone who’s been hospitalized (twice!) and been put in restraints and who has had at least 7 friends and acquaintences commit suicide, I think my sensitivities trump yours. I find nothing wrong with the bear. ---
