FYI, it looks like this was the comment where you crossed that line:

I think that _is_ attacking the poster.

It’s also just kind of a bad faith technique/Straw Man Argument, trying to ‘bolster your argument’ by putting words into another’s mouth – arguing against something that the other person simply didn’t say, or a position they simply don’t hold.
