Let’s go ahead and get the conspiracy theories rolling.
It looks like PBS, that bastion of intellect, is one step closer to cracking the mystery of Osama’s motivations.
It seems that bin Laden’s oldest brother died in a [**mysterious ultralight plane crash**](http://web.star-telegram.com/content/fortworth/2001/09/27/state/fw010402-0927-XB001-kennedy.htm) thirteen years ago…in **TEXAS**.
Plane crash =\> Texas.
Bush Senior =\> CIA.
CIA =\> bin Laden.
Bush Jr =\> Texas.
Book Depository =\> Texas.
The obvious conclusion: The CIA contracted Salem bin Laden to bump off JFK, then silenced him.
What, that’s not enough for ya?
Salem bin Laden’s age when he died: 42.
Can anyone name a famous author for whom the number 42 had a great significance? And isn’t that fascinating, he JUST DIED THIS YEAR - the VERY SAME YEAR Osama chose to avenge his older brother’s death - with **airplane crashes!!!**
Speaking of authors, note the name of the author in the cited article. Coincidence? I don’t fucking THINK SO.

Jumpin’ jesus in a jellybean jar, how the HELL could PBS not even bother to check the police report on the incident before they put this crap on the airwaves? Isn’t there enough confusion and disagreement over the tragedy without PBS shoveling more unsubstantiated horseshit into the fray?
Fuck you, PBS, you’re no longer relevant. The Internet gives Joe Everybody a voice, and the content available on channels like The History Channel, TLC, TDC, et al eat your bargain-basement bullshit for breakfast. You don’t deserve money from the NEA if you’re going to blow it on worthless, misinformed tripe - assuming you ever deserved it at all.

Maybe you ought to check some primary sources before you start flaming PBS.
The updated Sept.13, 2001 transcript doesn’t talk about the brother at all, that I can see.

And, um, neither does the original broadcast transcript of March 21, 2000. I don’t see anything at all about a brother.

So is Bud Kennedy (whose column it is) lying, or hoaxing, or has he just been “misinformed”? Maybe he believes all his e-mail?

Nah. It _wasn’t_ in the transcript, in the strictest sense…more like ‘liner notes’.
