You may recall the pregnant man we discussed a few months ago, it seems he has given birth to a healthy baby girl.

You know, I saw that, and I thought “Now at least everyone will shut up about it”.

No offense intended, **Antinor**. 🙂
I _do_ realize that it will probably happen again. I mean, well, maybe not that person but another person in a similar situation might.

None taken. Just thought I’d let people know as a followup to the prior discussion.

This person is not a man; this is a very mixed-up women. You can’t change your sex just by taking a few shots. Also, last time sI checked, men can not have babies. Finally, if you check her chromosomes, you note that she does not an a Y chromosome; ergo, she is a woman.

I feel very sorry for this child.

And not every one with a Y chromosome is male; ever heard of Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome? Or are those people just mixed-up males?

I cant understand why someone who professes to want to become male so badly gets themselves pregnant.

I cant help but think that the poor little kid is going to grow up with multiple complexes seemingly a case of Me first and sod if its going to be good to have/for the baby.

Too unwilling to try adoption first? Although I know it’s difficult for homosexuals to adopt, I don’t see why someone who is legally male and married to someone who is biologically and legally female would have problems adopting. If he’s accepted as male by the law and his wife is unable to reproduce, then why not try adoption?

It’s always so fascinating to read these sorts of un- and ill-informed pronouncements on a board supposedly dedicated to fighting ignorance.

Maybe they wanted a child that was biologically related to at least one of them. Same reason that couples spend money on fertility treatments. If he’s biologically capable of having a child who’s genetically related to him, why shouldn’t he?

[/QUOTE]

Honestly, when anyone decides to spend money on fertility treatments in the pursuit of “it _must_ be genetically related to me,” I find it incredibly selfish. Personally, I’m not interested in children at this point, but I’d rather adopt than make my own because I know there are so many kids in need of adoption in the US.

There’s also an additional “you can’t have it both ways” thought that I have in regard to this situation. Biologically, men aren’t supposed to be pregnant, and this has carried over socially. If he wants to be recognized as a man, he should probably not engage in behaviors that would normally be exclusively assigned to women. I’m fine with people deciding their own gender, but I think this particular situation and the attention whoring around it is a bit ridiculous.
