The Press Your Luck Scandal

I’m pretty sure that site is just wrong about the rules. I just saw a rerun the other day where the woman had one spin left, she hit something with a spin, and then she passed the spin.

Even just looking at the pdf on that site (which seems to have exceeded its data limit, unfortunately) he’s sitting there with over $100,000 and his remaining spins are in the yellow regular spins box, not the red passed spins box.

It is. Press Your Luck and Whammy! (the revival) have 2 types of spins - Passed and Earned. All Earned spins may be passed. Passed spins may not (although they can become Earned spins).

Earned spins are all spins won - either by correctly answering questions in the Trivia segment of the round, or hitting Prize+Spin spots on the board - plus Passed spins left if you hit a Whammy while using up spins passed to you. Passed spins were just that - spins that were passed to you.

This site has a good rundown of the rules.

In my defense, I haven’t seen an entire episode of PYL in about 3 years, and I don’t still have my copy of the PYL PC game to test it out.

Am I the only one who hated Press Your Luck? I mean, greed is one thing; but to sit there shouting “big bucks! big bucks! No whammies!” is pretty obnoxious. Moreso, because it doesn’t make any freaking difference! Just play the game, okay?

I think it’s fantastic that somebody managed to hack the show.

Hey, come on! That’s what made it exciting!
