Well, there’s the claustrophobic skyline, the urine smell, the gold chains being sold, and the fashion: Members-Only jackets with the circa 1980 white puffy adidas high-tops. I’d say someone should drop a bomb on downtown Philadelphia, but judging by the empty buildings, they did already. But I like the tomb of the unknown taxi hailer, or whomever the fuck that is… ---

Funny thing is, they renamed it after Grace Kelly’s brother _dropped dead while jogging on it_. Those Kellys . . . Always were such pushy social climbers, would do _anything_ to get ahead . . . ---

:I hate the fact that the Inquirer doesn’t carry Uncle Cecil’s column. Um, isn’t in the City Paper, or Philadelphia Weekly? :Oh, and I hate the fact that Pittsburgh hates us. WTF? We don’t hate you (I had no idea there was a rivalry between the two cities until I came to Penn State). When I lived in PGH, I don’t recall anyone even caring about what happened in Philly. It always seemed so far away. Now, if you were from Cleveland, that would be a different story. The thing that drove me nuts when I lived in Philly was the constant asking for money, everywhere. In the Gallery, at the bus stop, at the 7-11, at the airport, on the El, IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE in Bala Cynwyd. I could start a thread on all the stories I got on why I should give them money. Anyway, best food anywhere. I miss the Reading Terminal Market alot. And I wanted some canoli from Termini’s in the worse way at Christmas. ---
