According to the BBC stories, the folks you see at the front door had been in line at least 18 hours. Wow, indeed. And, considering that those pilgrims are in awe, this is something that really is…awesome.
Well, I was there a couple weeks ago and they were getting ready for Palm Sunday. It was pretty crowded (or so I thought!), but looking at these pictures…Wow, just wow!
I’ll just add that I did actually get to see the Pope the Wednesday before Palm Sunday when he made an unscheduled appearance. I feel very fortunate.
