Thanks for reminding me of the 1969 World Series where the Chicago Cubs swept the Orioles. The pandemonium when Ernie Banks, Glenn Beckert and Ron Santo hit back to back to back homers in Game 2 was incredible.

And who can forget the thrill of seeing Evel Kneivel ‘s successful leap of the Snake River Canyon on his rocket cycle? Or George Foreman’s brutal defeat of Muhammad Ali in the “Rumble in the Jungle” bout in 1974. Ali fought occasionally for a while after that, never again facing a title fight, but finally retired in 1981. Now he is on infomercials hawking the Muhammad Ali Grill.

I’m scheduling Vinlandia: A History to celebrate the millenial of Leif Ericsson’s founding of the oldest continuously inhabited North American city for this spring.

A show on the results of the NYC primaries that were held on September 11, 2001. It was such a slow news day.
