This [story](http://www.canoe.ca/CNEWSTopNews/embalm_jul26-ap.html) mentions that people have taken to smoking embalming fluid. I would really like to meet the first person who did this and ask them why they thought this seemed like a good idea. ---

I just heard about this on TV last night, and it’s damn scary. Especially that it contains methanol, one of the most poisonous chemicals known to man. Methanol was what they called “wood alky” in the days of Prohibition, and can literally blind the drinker. Another scary thing about this is that it sounds like people can easily make it themselves. It’s ironic how some of the most lethal drugs are the easiest to get. ---

Embalming fluid stuff is an ingredient in Extacy, or so I’ve heard, and tons of people take that. Me? Nah, I stick to the naturals… that other stuff’s just suicide. ---

This thing reeks (no pun intended) of urban legend. Why the hell would anyone smoke embalming fluid? People have been claiming embalming fluid is used to lace pot and the like for years, and I’ve never heard of anyone actually doing it. Hey, maybe I’m just out of the loop, but some of the quotes in the article smack of “drug use experts” who are really just over-concerned and under-informed bureaucrats.
