So I’ve seen a few quiznos commericals with two things on the screen singing. The commericals themselves are damn funny, but now a friend and I are arguing – what on earth are those two things? I say they are potato chips, he says they are hamsters… So we put the vote to you, the Dopers…Name that small round brown looking thing. ---

All I can add is that whenever I see that commercial I can’t help but think it’s an appeal to the stoner demographic. It makes _me_ giggle, anyway. ---

A Quizno’s just opened close by. I had planned on going there one day but after seeing that damn annoying commericial…I changed my mind. Them things are annoying ---

I love the Quizno’s commercial. I find myself singing the jingle, and my favorite part “they’ve got a pepper bar!” gets me laughing everytime… they are crunchy they are tasty they are warm because they toast them… THEY"VE GOT A PEPPAH BAH! ---

Can I throw in a vote for looking at those things, the last thing onmy mind is FOOD. They opened a Quizno’s on34th Steet and I went, but damn it I’ll never be able to walk in there again with out gaging at the idea of those rat things humping a sandwich. :wally ---

Am I the first one to think that using frightening looking singing rodents might not be a god idea for a fast food chain? Then again, look how popular the Taco Bell dog was. And _I_ think they’re chinchillas. But I’ve been wrong in the past. ---

The first time I saw a Quiznos commercial with those things singing, I jumped up and ran out of the room. It was night and I was home alone, and they scared the crap out of me. I didn’t come back into the room until the commercial was over. When my wife and daughters came home, I told them about this scary commercial with frightening singing hamster-like critters whose eyes were bulging and moving around, and my kids wanted to see. I balked, sure that they would get scared and have nightmares – they’re only 7 and 5 years old, after all. But they insisted, so I finally gave in and showed them the commercial (it was recorded on one of the TiVos). Both of them basically said “Those are so _cute_! I _love_ those little animals!” Apparently, my girls are a lot more comfortable around demon rodents than I am … ---

I am going with the demon rodents vote. But I would like to add stoner demon rodents… I did like the commercial on the sole basis that it made me ask what the hell was that? ---

I think they look like marmosets or another tiny primate, that have been altered. I LOVE Quiznos, but I also don’t see why they are using the animations. Kittens or people would have been better, Joel animates all kinds of things. ---

One of them is a CGI-altered [tarsier](http://www.sugbu.com/images/tarsier.jpg), a small prosimian from southeast Asia. The other is a CGI-altered groundhog, from what I can tell. ---
