Hi Folks, Several weeks ago, a lady visited my website and then came to this forum and posted a link to my site and told everyone I was a racist. In fact, she made quite a business of going to various forums and slandering me. It took me some time before I realised what was happening, and her accusations here especially seemed to attract quite a crowd. I tried to register here to defend myself but then StraightDope went down because it was being revamped. Anyway, I see it is back up now and wish to defend myself. _sigh_ That would be me-I started a thread in IMHO about **Jan** ’s site, asking if anyone else felt it had a rather racist slant to it. (Is this site Racist?) I wanted to get the opinions of the Dopers, since I trust the opinions of the people here very highly. I wondered if I were jumping to conclusions. I WOULD link to the thread, but it was right before the big hack, and unfortunately, it isn’t there anymore-a lot of old threads were gone. FWIW, I was not the only one who found your site racist. **JanL** -just a quick warning-for one thing, are you sure you weren’t registered before this? Just making sure-if the hack didn’t eat your name, you should use the one you registered with-multiple names are a no-no. And make sure you lurk carefully and follow the rules around here. JanL: Fair warning, people here do not cotton to personal attacks. I didn’t find the cite racist per se, but it did seem to carry the message that it’s all gone to hell since the blacks took over. That may be the case. But I would have liked to see more details on: [ul] [li]How has life worsened for the average (black) citizen?[/li][li]What, specifically, have the governments done wrong?[/li][li]What should they have done?[/li][li]What can be done to improve the situation? This is what I found most disturbing; you did not seem to have any plans for the future, any constructive ideas. Is the solution putting the whites back in power?[/li][/ul] ---

At my cursory glance of the site, it seems that all it does is document the atrocities and racism committed against White Africans by Black Africans. If these accounts are true, then it’s not racist to point them out. ---

The general message is this: Most of Africa has been independant for 40-50 years and in that time it has become very obvious for anyone who knows the history that Africa has gone backwards - since independence. There are many reasons for this. Southern Africa, especially, is the region I am concerned about because I have lived here all my life. The region has great mineral wealth which have drawn Russia’s interest for long (See the photo gallery on my website for photo evidence of Russia’s presence in South Africa and other countries). Most of the states in southern Africa (south of the equator basically), are SOCIALIST and many are closet communists/Marxists (e.g. Mugabe as but one example). Africa, for example, at the end of WWII could feed itself. Now only South Africa can - and even that is going down the drain. The wealth of African colonies, back in the mid 1900’s when compared to say the Philiphines or Malasia, was greater than it is today. IN EVERY RESPECT, Africa has LOST GROUND to every part of the world since the 1960’s. Yet, all problems are blamed, by its current rulers on “colonialism”. The purpose of my website and book is to draw attention to the problem and to try to explain things to people outside Africa in a sensible manner instead of just playing “the blame game” as current Africans do. I believe, that in the end, nothing will be done. I believe, the West will pussyfoot around, and Mugabe-style thinking will gain sway in South Africa and that eventually it will lead to a race war where whites have to take up arms to prevent Zimbabwe-style take-overs. In such a situation, I believe whites will be forced, through circumstances to break away to form a white country on the southern tip of Africa. I do not believe whites will ever come to power in Africa, nor do I advocate it. I do believe there are 2 problems: (a) survival of whites in Africa (b) Survival of black Africa. I believe, as I said above, whites will be forced to survive or die at some future point (probably in less than 10 years). I believe that in the long term, Marxists, like those now ruling Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia, Angola and the DRC will eventually have to be deposed and replaced by pro-Western blacks. NOTE: The black Marxists wield a lot of power and keep spreading their influence through Africa by war and political machinations. Have you seen Africa take a strong stand against Mugabe for example? You won’t. As Africa falls apart, Africa will continue to become a bigger problerm for the rest of the world BECAUSE, the world needs to give aid to prevent starvation. Africa, as a burden, will increase. Furthermore, more and more Africans will flee to Europe, Britain and whereever else they can. This mass migration of blacks from Africa should already be telling you people that life in Africa is not good. Indeed, even at the height of Apartheid, blacks were continuously moving IN TO South Africa from all manner of black nations to the north, not unlike what the Mexicans do in the USA today. ---

If you will read my posts you will see I abhor the MASS MURDER of BLACKS which is taking place in Zimbabwe. Things are complex, but what you have are politicians who play the race card all the time trying to deflect things from the real issue. You all had a chance to see what Mugabe did in the recent election. He is trying to offset the fact that blacks want to kick him out by harping on “land issues” and trying to introduce RACE as an issue. ---

LOL-I wasn’t flaming you-it’s a common joke around here: Okay, this is the BBQ Pit section-meaning, any flaming or insults have to be done HERE. You’re not allowed to flame anyone in other places-THIS forum is fair game. That doesn’t mean you HAVE to flame anyone here, mind you. So, sometimes, when people write a non-flame post in the Pit, they add (pauses to pay attention to Gregory Peck movie on TV), “Oh, and since this is the Pit: _insert string of non-sense profanity here_”. The reason this was moved to the Pit is because your thread would likely generate insults and flaming-because you accused me of doing something, so technically, you are calling me out. You don’t HAVE to be insulting here. (pauses to pay attention to Gregory Peck-dammit, I’m lusting after the man even when he’s playing a Jesuit! I am so going to Hell! 😛 ) If I were you, I’d present your case-for your site in GD-saying, “What is the problem in South Africa,” etc etc. As far as your site-I’d say a group of people who refer to Martin Luther King as a communist have more than a few issues, to say the least. Also, you seem to insinuate that blacks were better off under Apartheid. Apartheid was evil and racist by it’s very practices. ---

It would be better then if you go and present your case for your site-without mentioning ME-in Great Debates, and say, “This is what I believe, blah blah blah…” Because if you came here specifically to stir things up and cause TROUBLE, that’s called trolling-a BIG NO-NO HERE. I mentioned this place because I thought you might like the debates we have here. As far as my home turf-yeah, I’d say I have a few friends here, and a few people who probably can’t stand me. I asked a question about your site-asking for OPINIONS. I said, IS THIS SITE RACIST-it seems so to me. Then you come here and accuse me of a personal campain. Not true at all. Look-why don’t you take my advice, and start a thread in Great Debates on the state of South Africa and Zimbabwe and Mgabe and Mandela (who was not a communist), and all that-without mentioning me. That way, it will look merely like you’re presenting your case, and NOT coming here to specifically attack a poster HERE for something that didn’t happen HERE.
