I guess it’s effective, since I stop and look at it every time I see it – but it bothers me for reasons I can’t quite put my finger on. Heh. (Keep reading for the explanation of the “heh.”) It’s all about Kate Hudson’s ass, isn’t it? And this cute kittenish pose that somehow is older than her mother’s kittenish schtick. MSN just reviewed the movie as being “50 years out of date – if that wouldn’t be an insult to the '50s.” Leaving aside the movie itself, though, there’s something about her pose that just bothers me. Is it that instead of lying on the bearskin rug she’s had the bearskin rug made into boots? Is it that she’s wearing hotpants? I find it totally skeevy. Does anyone else have such a strong reaction to it? ---

It looks more like a towel. But what can I say; sex sells. Ads have to feature explosions, nudity or Jack Nicholson if they’re going to draw anybody to the box office. ---

First time I saw it, the furred cuffs on the boots made it look like she had her panties rolled down to her calves. Maybe that’s it? ---

The whole ad is a tease. Millions will buy tickets based only on seeing Kate Hudson’s picture, lying there apparently offering her supple ripe bottom to anybody who buys a ticket. ---

THANK YOU! I pointed the ad out to my wife, saying that the ad campaign appears to be all about Kate Hudson’s butt. She looked at me like I had grown two heads. ---

No, you’re not the only one that poster bothers. There’s just something about the ‘cutesy’ pose which says absolutely nothing about the movie itself that bugs me. I mean, at least the poster for _The Stepford Wives_ has Nicole Kidman with a finger pressed to her lips, implying there’s a secret of some sort. It tells us _something_. ---

You look at the poster and say, okay, what’s this movie about? Even indirectly, it tells you nothing – it tells you nothing about the character other than the fact that her ass is merely the highlight of her perkiness, not the extent of it. ---

This ad has been bothering me ever since I saw it, and I couldn’t quite figure out why exactly. I mean, I knew it was because of her pose, but I mean that’s nothing new… But it has been bugging me since day one. Glad it’s not just me then. ---

add me to the list of people who feel if not creeped out just odd looking a that poster. time to pull out my tattered copy of subliminal seduction, lol. by the by todays ad in the paper has replaced the background or lack thereof in the original with a shot of manhattan and a picture of kate smiling on top of herself. hope that made sense. ---

I rather like the movie poster. I have no intention of seeing the movie, I just like looking at Kate Hudson’s ass. ---

If the movie were about Kate Hudson’s butt, I’d be so there. My problem is, I doubt the movie is about Hudson’s butt. ---

Either everyone else is seeing a different poster, or I’m just not being attentive of shapely asses as I used to be – all I’ve seen is the one where Kate Hudson is shown from the side, lying on her belly, wearing street clothes, and lifting her legs in the air. What towel? ---

In the OP, I called her garb “hotpants” – **Attrayant** thinks it looks like a towel – I think it’s either very short shorts or a very very short skirt. ---

Though I also have no intention of seeing the film, I have paused briefly a few times to check out {ahem} the poster and the hotness that is Kate Hudson, but I can’t remember what she is wearing. Thanks to this thread, I have the perfect excuse to going looking for it … ---

The poster says _everything_ about the movie! There’s going to be a blonde, she’s going to smile a lot, look cute, and show some skin but maybe not as much as you’d like her to!
