I still use a 2-bladed Atra, and it’s getting tough to find the replacement blades for it. ---

In the 90’s SNL had a 12 blade razor or something like that. /Horribly remembered paraphrase. “The first blade cust close, the second even closer, the third closer yet. The fourth blade extends the whisker, while the 4 th 5th and 6th slave even closer . The 8th blade provides aerodyamic stabilization as it passes…” ---

I’d laugh, but I’ll probably try one anyway. The Mach3 is so much better than any twin-blade razor for shaving my head that I’ll take a chance on 5 blades, at least once. ---

I found the generic version of those at Albertson’s, but it took awhile, since it was one tiny little shelf space in a sea of multiblades. Eventually, someone is going to take this trend to its logical limit and invent a miniature belt sander that abrades away your whiskers. It will be advertised as being “like an infinite number of tiny blades.” ---

Back when they first came out with the twin-blade razors, electric rotary shaver manufacturer Norelco cam out with ads saying something like “We’v always known that more blades are better”, showing their rotating-head shaver. And it was true – following the logic of the industry, Norelco’s shaver would do the same thing he two-bladed shaver did. And three-bladed, and four-bladed, and five-bladed… I wonder why they stopped running those so long ago… ---
