I pit the L.A. County Fair and myself for going to it. Hot. Overpriced everything. Total clip joint. Separate charges for this and that and the other. General parking is a long, long, long trudge. Is it me, or did the fair used to be more fun? ---

In a way I’m kinda glad to hear this as I am too far away to go for the first time in many years, so I’m kinda glad I’m not missing so much. Did you go to any of the horse show events? That was always my favorite part. And don’t they have the trams to ride to and from the parking lot? And, did you get a deep fried anything (oreo? snickers?)? ---

I don’t know what I’m allergic to, or what’s in the air, since pollen counts are low around here and I haven’t made any changes in diet or soaps or laundry detergent and I’m not on any medication at all since my surgery. But I am allergic to something and it is making my NOT-YET HEALED SURGICAL INCISIONS itch like a motherfucker, and spreading a rash around those incisions across my abdomen. That I can’t scratch. MUCH. ---

So the Rite Aid across the street from me is going out of business, and today they began their liquidation sale. 50% off everything in the store, woohoo! I get there and it’s a madhouse, \*tons \*of people, but I find lots of items that I was looking for so even though the lines are long I don’t mind waiting. A woman in front of me mentions it might be an hour wait. Well, I don’t have to be anywhere and I’m getting great deals here so fine. _Two and a half hours_ later I finally walk out of that store! Because the young man behind the counter had to scan each item, type the price into a calculator, and divide by 2, then he would subtract that amount from the register. WTF!? I asked him why didn’t he just ring everything up and then take 50% off and he said the managers told him to do it one at a time. And a special fuck you to those who pretend to be doing a good deed by inconveniencing others. There were three lines in the store (one cash only.) At this point I, and several people behind me, have been there 2 hours. A man in the back of the other line yells out “Go right ahead m’am, they will take you right up front there,” as he gestures for a older woman in front of \*him \*on line to step out of his line (which was moving much faster) and move to the front of \*our \*line. The people behind me started shouting at him how they’ve been there 2 hours and she should wait her turn line everyone else, which causes the man to get on a high horse about “treating the elderly right” and “she’s an old woman, don’t you have any compassion?” Of course, notice he did not tell her to move to the front of \*his \*line. I didn’t really care about the extra wait, she only had two items, but his attitude really pissed me off. He wanted to play the big man and appear like he was doing a good thing, but only if he would not be inconvenienced. The woman behind me mentioned a good comparison, it’s like inviting someone who’s hungry to eat at someone else’s house. Not to mention the woman with the passel of kids she could not control running around screaming and who would sit on the display cases (I seriously expected them to crash through the glass shelf at any moment.) ---

Snack! Popple! Crap! Fucking bus driver, probably 40+, chewing a gum cud the size of a cigarette pack, and snapping it as loudly as she possibly could. I hate gum chewers when they _don’t_ pop it, so this asshole made my list of people to come back and kill later. ---

Damn, you read fast! No, it’s supposed to be this afternoon between 5 & 6, but I still haven’t heard a peep. I’m assuming they know this route well (RI to LA) so can pretty much plan when they’ll be in my area. I hope to hell I get a call this morning sometime just to confirm! Guess I’ll take a book, a snack, and my phone and head to the meeting point well ahead of time. ---
