You have a small penis. You like it when children die. You are on the extreme right and are probably a Nazi or some other kind of racist. Because I can conceive of some situation where I would allow one person to own a starter pistol, it’s a lie to accuse me of wanting to take away guns and I will deny that I exist as a response to any argument. There is no such thing as a control group and all co-existing data sets are correlated. There is no crime in England. WHY WON’T YOU PEOPLE JUST HAVE A REASONABLE CONVERSATION?? ---

I think it’s because a lot of the anti-gun people literally do approach it from the perspective that they’re coming from the moral and intellectual high ground, and treat the other side with a lot of contempt and condescension because they _know_ they’re right, much the same way that a lot of convinced religious types talk down to the less religious. Combine that with the hyperbolic anti-gun comments you hear, and it’s no wonder that the pro-gun side doesn’t want a rational discussion. ---

Personally, I’m not trying to have a conversation with you, that clearly isn’t working. What is working is having a conversation about you . Gun owning households are at a 40 year low and more people see you as sad little weirdos who need to have a gun just to walk outside like the little pussies you are. There are responsible gun owners, but they’ve decided to team up with the loons, 20 more years and you’ll be a protected species. ---

Is there a special section of Godwin’s Law when Nazis are invoked in the OP of a thread? Doesn’t this create a tiny black hole somewhere in the interwebz and if enough of them are created, they merge and suck in all the perpetrators at once? I believe this was predicted in the Book of Revelation as the “The Tribulation”. ---

The thing that gets me is that most anti-gun folks will swear up and down that they are not trying to get rid of guns and then will present all sorts of arguments for getting rid of guns. If the anti-gun side could overcome their irrational fear of guns and try to focus on reducing gun violence, they would start focusing on a national registry. Sure the rabidly pro-gun folks don’t like it but they are about as likely to go along with any reasonable infringement on gun rights as a someone who is rabidly pro-choice is to go along with some reasonable restrictions on reproductive freedom. Don’t expect the resistance of the rabid to change to evaporate just because you are being reasonable. At least compared to an AWB, a national registry has the benefit of being clearly constitutional and is met with paranoid concerns about gun confiscation. Gun owners are already a protected species, or haven’t you heard of the second amendment. The majority of states that I think are still relatively pro-gun. Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Thats 36 states (with 72 senators) that are gun friendly. I don’t think that the pro-gun crowd needs to be as scared of national confiscations as they are but the sentiments in the individual states matters. Some more things that gun opponents believe: Not only do gun-confiscation proponents not actually exist, gun-rights proponents don’t either. Anyone who argues or votes against a gun-confiscation bill is a troll or a paid agent of the NRA and has no other motivations for their beliefs or actions. The 70 to 150 million Americans who own guns aren’t real people and they certainly aren’t part of the democratic process. There is no such thing as crime. Anyone who thinks they will ever need to defend themselves is paranoid and probably a racist. At the same time, there is a huge epidemic of crime, committed with guns, that is almost certainly going to cause your children to die. Both of these beliefs must be bought into unconditionally at the same time. Questioning their compatibility means you are a Nazi with a small penis. Barack Obama’s only motivations in opposing gun ownership are his deep and abiding love for the safety of children. The fact that Obama has personally authorized approximately 200 Newtowns worth of dead Pakistani children is irrelevant and bringing it up to question the motives of him or his supporters makes you a troll or an Alex Jones fan.
