I want to clarify this bit in my last post:
If you want your legacy to stay within your local chapter it needs to be specified - “Cook County, Illinois, Chapter of the American Red Cross”, for example, or “Aquatic training for children in Glenwood, Minnesota”. If you’re making a donation and you want your money to go to a specific disaster (southern Minnesota floods, Florida hurricane relief) you need to note that on your check, and if you want your entire check to remain within your local chapter you need to note that, as well.
YIKES! I think I’m glad I was stuck doing flood relief up here and not at THAT service center! Dayum.
People are weird, y’know? Some won’t take anything from us because they don’t want help, some look at the dollar amounts we give and start crying, some look at the dollar amounts and say, “That’s it?”. At which point my inside voice says, “Well, you don’t HAVE to take it if you don’t think it’s enough for ya, beeyotch.” :rolleyes:
