She was an actress when Harry met her. Acting is how she made her living. She’s taking a job doing what she is trained to do. My suspicion is they would object to anything she did. ---

To be fair, the Brits are still up in arms about the scandal of Edward VIII and the American [Wallis Simpson](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallis_Simpson), so another divorced American is close to the last straw… or so the tabloids will say. As a Brit myself - albeit non-resident - I, for one, welcome some fresh genes entering the royal gene pool: that chinless lot could do with some diversification. ---

Honestly, I think most people in the UK just don’t give a crap. Living here, I’ve yet to hear, in person, one single opinion about Meghan and her background. The odd mild joke about Americans, that’s about it. I reckon it’s just that the Venn diagram between the small proportion of people obsessed with royalty, the proportion of racist morons and those who read the tabloids has a lot of overlap. ---
