If Charles lives up to his past, he’ll probably opine on issues way too much, say stupid things, interfere with the government, and get all the people who support the Monarchy pissed at him. On the other hand, he’ll probably be a Progressive King, so maybe the left will become the Monarchists and the right will want it shut down. We live in strange times. ---

his brother was always called david, but became king edward for a little bit. after 73 years of being charles it may be a bit difficult to go to a new name. william became duke of cornwall upon charles ascending to king, he will have to be invested as prince of wales by the king at some point. ---

Fun facts about King Charles III. The first divorced monarch since Henry VIII. Queen Camilla is the first previously divorced Queen since Eleanor of Aquatine. First previously married Queen since Catherine Parr and the first to have children from a previous relationship since Elizabeth Woodville. She is also Descended from a Royal Mistress. (Need @APB to confirm some of the above). Charles at 73 is the oldest new monarch. He is older than his Aunt was at her death, 17 years older than his grandfather ever got, 2 years older than his mother was at Diana’s death….he is old. ---

Regarding the new King’s reign, I think he’s doing OK so far. He seems patient. I remember when he was having a “discussion” with America’s Greatest Moron about climate change. America’s Moron wanted to make sure that Charles was aware that America had a great clean atmosphere and wonderful weather. ---

There are some things that are just considered bad form for a Royal. Like calling yourself King Arthur. Or Albert. But they insist in christening the boys with that in their string o’ names. ---
