The hilt and crossguard look wildly impractical, true, but I think the blade itself is the real deal. I’ve love to see Doug Marcaida test it. ---

Well, not the whole idea. The idea is to balance the nose heavy blade (and keep the sword from slipping out of hand), but yes, it is also a useful blunt weapon in itself. ---
