Hey, that works! Just put together something so stupid and self-destructive that nobody would pass it! Did that with the whole “sequester” bluster-fuck, put together a towering inferno of dumb, and it will fail, thus forcing Congress into intelligent and responsible behavior! What could possibly go wrong? Oh. Wait. I remember now… ---

It’s basically a giant game of chicken at this point where no one wants to pass this bill, but no one wants to be the reason it doesn’t pass. So, yeah, how good legislation often gets made I’m sure. ---

I still think this is all about getting a “win” for Trump, because if he doesn’t get one soon he’s going to do something that will be too crazy for even the most hard-line Trump apologist to ignore. Maybe they could pass some sort of bill that renames the ACA and use that to trick Trump into thinking that it’s been repealed. ---

I’m making popcorn! This Graham/McCain press conference was surreal. The gist seemed to be that - the “Skinny Bill” is the worst thing ever, it’s going to destroy the insurance market - so of course they want to vote for it because Obama. But they’re scared that the House might trick them and pass the bill after they do. So there not going to vote for it unless the House double pinky-swears on their mothers grave that they won’t pass it. Or something.
