A little off topic I guess, but one thing The Oval Office has going for it are two major conflicts conducted very differently. GW-I had a very clearly-defined, realistic mission and exit conditions and is reasonably lauded as a successful operation. GW-II had a clearly-defined mission as well, but was not conducted efficiently and the exit conditions were either not defined or were ignored, resulting in a bit of a boondoggle. Good recent history for a president to keep in mind when considering just what to do with Syria. ---
