To be fair, one should also track the number of such crimes committed by Democrats. I’m confident that the number of Republicans on such a list would be higher than the number of Democrats, but I would like to know by what factor higher. ---

This was posted on the “Alt National Park Service” page on Facebook today: > Significant portions of Article I of the U.S. Constitution were removed from the version published on Congress’ official Constitution website. Large parts of Section 8(which outlines the powers of Congress) were deleted, and Sections 9 and 10, which place critical limits on federal and state power, were removed entirely. These sections include protections such as habeas corpus and the prohibition on the government granting titles of nobility. They claim this was done in error. It’s been reversed now, but the Republicans had stated that [FEMA funding could be revoked if the receiving state or city boycotted Israeli businesses](https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-reverses-pledge-link-disaster-funds-israel-boycott-stance-2025-08-04/). Because those pesky states’ rights are loved by the Republicans. Until they’re not. I love the message it sent: we care less about our constituents than we do the government of a different country. ---

That’s been true as long as the concept of “state’s rights” has existed, back to before the Civil War and the passing of the Fugitive Slave Act (which forced the free states to participate in enforcing slavery). I went to lunch with a group of people from work today, and the topic of barbecue came up. Someone admitted to having tried ‘Alabama style,’ which uses a white sauce that some folks consider to be well outside of any barbecue category. He likened it to mayo, and even said it made ranch dressing seem spicy by comparison.
