Somebody can succeed (and have) with a “stand your ground” defense where they shot a fleeing unarmed man in the back. But he was _black,_ so killing him was OK. “Stand your ground” is in practice just legalized murder. Rittenhouse getting away with murdering protestors is exactly the sort of thing “stand your ground” laws were written for. ---

We’re taking about the Michael Rediker shooting incident in Florida. Rittenhouse claims Rediker was attacked by three people and used stand your ground. Even though 1. Rediker had driven his tractor a half a mile IIRC into the victim’s property. 2. Rediker first beat down the victim’s wife. 3. The man went to assist his unconscious wife. He did not attack Rediker. 4. The man was unarmed. 5. Rediker shot him in the head. ---
