I’ve had my suspicions about the GOP. Their scandals are increasingly scandalous, their nuttery increasingly nutty, the judgment of key persons increasingly poor. My first inkling was McCain’s choice of running mate–a spectacularly unelectable woman to back up an ancient man of questionable health. It would take a tremendously disciplined persona to guarantee his own defeat by associating his own good name with such a buffoon. McCain stepped up and leapt on the grenade, castrating the Republican party. Then we have the Republican mud-wrestling competition that squirted Mitt Romney out as The Best The Republicans Have To Offer. He’s a contender? No problem Paul Ryan and Tom Head to the rescue and the Republican Party is further refocused into a carnival of WTF?ness. Still serious? OK then, let’s see if we can get a little more condescending with the wimmins! It’s totally a plot. The Dems have seized control of the Republican Party and are doing their best to discredit and dismantle it from within. No quality control of candidates, double agents, orchestrated gaffes, the works. It’s the first step in eliminating opposition for the ultimate aim: Complete allegiance to the UN, the first and largest step toward establishing a hegemonic United Earth! ---

Bleh, I don’t like the emphasis on women having to look attractive for the sake of men, and not doing much else. I have really short no-maintenance hair and don’t wear makeup. ---

The Contrarian Position: Have any of you ever been caught unprepared by a television camera? Have any of you ever been in Florida in the summer? If I were in an environment where my image might be broadcast to million, I might want a little liner, gloss, and blush. Or a ton. Whatever. In Florida, in August, the only place to apply judicious enhancements would be in the convention hall, lest they melt all over one. My question is why aren’t men offered a quiet place to a quick toner and polish? ---

This isn’t about touching up for the camera. It’s called “Woman Up”. The implication being that you’re not really a woman without the proper touch up. ---

It makes sense to me. Who tends to have bigger hair? Democratic women or Republican women? I hate to generalize, but I think it’s the latter. The bigger the hair, the more primping required. Add in the Florida humidity and possible gale strength winds, and you are talking about a serious matter.
