I liked the old Doors song better.
A sign in a local upper scale restaurant, behind the counter:
“Unruly children will be sold, and the proceeds donated to charity.”
I laughed out loud, probably because I don’t have children, and that sign summed it up for me.
I work in distribution. I’m convinced that these types of signs and good customer instructions are the effect, not the cause. I deal with unruly customers on a daily basis. It gets old. There are some really bad customers who, I am convinced, are not happy until they feel that my company has lost money on them. There are customers that swear at you, threaten your life and your job for not being able to bend the laws of the space/time continuum in order to reach their unreasonable expectations. But don’t dare mention that they are being unreasonable.
Sometimes customers do have to be told how to behave themselves properly. It is a business relationship. It should be civil. I bend over backwards to be civil towards the customer.
If you are a good customer, then that sign is not directed at you. Ignore it. If the sign relates to you, then be aware, we won’t take any bullshit from you, should you try to dish some out.
