I saw the American version of The Ring last weekend on DVD and, well, I didn’t find the film scary at all.

I thought The Shining was scary.
I thought the last five minutes of Carrie was scary.
The end of Wait Until Dark had me jumping.
Even the film Jaws had its moments.

But I expected more from The Ring…although it wasn’t boring, there really wasn’t any moment where I was particularly scared or creeped out. Too bad…I was really hoping for a big shock of some kind. Oh well, I felt the same letdown after seeing Psycho…also didn’t do it for me.

I read a review (MSNBC?) by a guy who had seen both and he basically said he personally liked the American version slightly better, but that both were equally good in their own way.

You left off one for the American version:

1. No stupid bucket-bailing.
