Salsa’s made supper - even with the tip, it was barely $20! I love that place!! I got my hair cut so I’m looking less like a sheepdog. Daughter will get here tomorrow morning - they’re driving all night because they’re insane. Dumb young 'uns! Thus endeth most of my Wednesday. TV and chillage shall ensue. ---

Dropping this here because this is my most anonymous space on Teh Intarwebz (even though more of you here know my real name than any of my other online hangouts). I have decided that I’m done with my birth family. Specifically, my sisters. I’ve just had the last shred of straw collapse the load that’s been building for the last (if I’m honest about the timeline) 25 years. Deep down inside I’ve always my worth with them is proportional to my ability to do something for them that they don’t want to deal with but now it’s become glaringly obvious. To me, at least. So therefore I will now be attending Christmas with my adopted Irish family who both knows more about me and cares more about me than the people I share genetics with. I feel sad, but freer than I have in a long time. Sláinte, y’all. ---

**rio** , bummer about your vehicle. ☹ Have a safe trip, **metal mouse**! **swampy** , when you visit Aldi, remember that they’re not all created equal. The one at my old place was more Euro-centric and had good produce. I did ~half my shopping there. The one here is good for nuts and cheese, but I go to Kroger or the Pubic sto’ for most everything else. **Emily** your sickies trump my snowed in for holiday interruptions. I hope everyone’s feeling better soonest. **{{{big kitty}}}** It truly sucks when you share DNA with assholes and the like. My dad pretty much cut a couple of his brothers loose when I was just a kid. I have one sister with whom I have very little contact (my choice). Fortunately, like you, I have family of choice. Joyous Solstice, y’all! My department had a lunch at the Mexican place within walking distance to send a cow-orker (officially) off to another department. She’s been covering a role in that department for a year now and once it was posted, interviewed and got it. As I interface with her new department regularly, I’m glad that there’s someone in there permenantly who knows what I do. 🙂 I paid a stoopit parking ticket this evening. Bastiges even had the noive to charge a $3 convience fee for paying online, even though they gave no mailing address. When I checked the BBB complaints, they were all pretty similar to mine. Bad signage, not honoring validation, etc… What’s sad is that this was a volunteer meet-up and all five of us wound up paying $42 more than the coffee that we had. We made a new rule: we don’t do meetings where the parking isn’t 100% free. If that restricts us to the 'burbs, so be it. :rant over: ---

{{{ **BigKitty** }}} Christmas shopping is, I think, finished. I tried (in five different places) to find a bicycle for HRH, but I left my search too late. She will have to wait for delivery after Christmas, since all the stores are out of stock for her size and colour options. She will have plenty of other stuff to unwrap on Christmas morning, so no big deal! Tomorrow will be rest and gift wrapping day, Saturday is pre-chemo blood test in the morning and Xmas Eve BBQ lunch with friends, then stocking stuffing and Xmas prep in the evening. Sunday is Christmas, Monday is Boxing Day (shopping all day at the sales), Tuesday is chemo, Wednesday is lay on the couch and feel exhausted day … Phew! ---

I woke at 2 and drifted in and out of weird dreams from then till my alarm at 5. Not very restful, and why I would be dreaming about baby onesies and unfinished ceramic projects…brain not normal. \*\*BigKitty \*\*- sometimes family is way overrated. Glad you’ve resolved the issue for yourself and that you’ve got a family you can depend upon! 😃 Daughter and bf have supposedly been driving all night and he’s going to be dropping her off at our house around 7 or 8 this morning. I’m going to meet them for lunch, then take the rest of the afternoon off. Wonder what, if anything, I’ll get to do this morning? But it’s payday, so yay, and it’s one day closer to my 4-day weekend! Happy Thursday! ---
