I’m not sure if this belongs here or in Cafe Society, but it is a factual quesiton, so that’s why I’m posting it here.

What is the name of The Rolling Stones song that The Verve sampled in Bittersweet Symphony?

According to [VH1](http://www.vh1.com/artists/news/511079/01111999/verve.jhtml), it’s “The Last Time”.

Basically, The Verve samped part of the _orchestral mix_ of “The Last Time”. After that, you’ll have to decide for yourself what the real truth is…

is The Verve and The Verve Pipe the same band, or different bands, like The Who and The Guess Who?

Yes, they are different bands. The Verve is an English band, and The Verve Pipe is American, I believe.
