# The Roughriders are alone in First Place!!!  I hear the hoofbeats of the Apocalypse!

Now, I don’t want to panic anyone, but as of tonight’s win over the Stamps , the Saskatchewan Roughriders are first in the West, 2 points ahead of the Bombers, _and_ the B.C. Lions, _and_ the Eskimos. In fact, the Riders are second place overall: only the Als have a better record, by just one game.

😃 😕 😃 😕 😃 😕 😃 😕

While I personally take great delight in this, I must admit I’m worried. The Riders haven’t been alone in first place in the West since 1976. I’m afraid if I look out the window I’ll see that the moon has turned blood red, dogs are sleeping with cats, and Stockwell Day has become Leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition. (Oh wait, that already happened :eek: )

On balance, I think I’ll just sit back and enjoy it, with a goofy grin on my face, until the Rapture. It can’t be long in coming.

piffle. Winnipeg won on Saturday, so on points they’re tied with the Riders. But the Riders have a game in hand and one less loss than Winnipeg.

Next stop, Ottawa.
