If the Chiefs decide to rest their team, having clinched the #1 seed, it looks like the last AFC spot is the Broncos’ to lose. Meanwhile in the NFC, it comes down to Tampa Bay or Atlanta winning the South. ---

Broncos absolutely spanked the Chiefs to the tune of 38-0. Bucs won and Falcons lose, so the Bucs win the division and prepare for the postseason while the Falcons prepare for the off-season. ---

Detroit’s dominant victory over Minnesota last night coupled with the players that are beginning to return from injury has made them my NFC favorite to get to the Super Bowl. I’m going to play a hunch and go with the Ravens in the AFC. ---

I’ll pick the Chiefs to lose to the Bills and _probably_ lose to the Ravens. I think they handle any of the other AFC teams. ---

Why “due to the bye”? Andy Reid is something like 27-4 after a bye week (only 2 losses when the other team played the week before). Not saying the Chiefs are a lock to win the Divisional Game, but at home against the lowest remaining playoff team (so _not_ the Bills or Ravens)? I would suspect the Chiefs would be strong favorites in that game. I guess the Chargers are a little scary. But they handled the Texans and Steelers pretty easily just last month. Broncos? Can’t see them beating the Bills in the first round. Now losing in the AFCCG to either the Ravens or Bills? Absolutely possible (maybe even likely). ---

I keep seeing things about how if the Vikings beat the Rams next week, they return to Detroit in two weeks. But isn’t that dependent on the Eagles beating the Packers and the Buccs beating the Commanders? The Pack and Commanders are both lower seeds than the Vikings, so one of those two would get Detroit if they win, right? Am I understanding the playoff structure correctly? ---

[2024 NFL Playoff Bracket - ESPN](https://www.espn.com/nfl/playoff-bracket) The number one seed plays the lowest remaining seed in the Divisional Round which could be 4-7. The two remaining teams will face off. If Green Bay and Minnesota win (meaning Philadelphia and Los Angeles lose), Detroit would play Green Bay (1 vs 7) and Minnesota would play Tampa Bay (3 vs 5). This happened last year when the Cowboys lost and Detroit ended up hosting the Divisional game as well. ---
