If I recall correctly, she just dropped in at the end to make an appearance. And he was scared the rest of the night, although I don’t think he thought he would get fired. This was before e-mail so he had no way of contacting her afterwards to apologize. I was off the day he got fired.

It’s nice to think this, but it rarely pans out this way (especially at law firms). To the OP: does your firm rhyme with “Spadden”?

Doesn’t it make you feel like you’re a 3rd party? Agh. I’m at my doctor’s office two weeks ago, standing at the desk waiting to make a follow up appointment (for migraines, no less) and she’s screaming on her cell phone, talking to her son’s drug rehab center. :o I don’t mind chitchat in an office - it’s practically a rite of passage in ultra-informal Pittsburgh - I just mind hearing personal details of others’ lives. Especially when they’re gory…like drug rehab :smack:.
