Oh god nooooooooo… honestly, its not good. One of my bosses has a BO problem, part of that is that by Friday he smells like burgers… it really isn’t nice. Its just that he probably doesn’t shower too often or change his clothes… it so isn’t nice. A line I remember out of the movie “So I married an Axe Murderer” was that one of the gf’s was dumped cos she smelt of soup. I met a guy like this once… again it was unpleasant. I don’t people should smell like food to be honest. PS Pammipoo I assume works in a burger place… and doesn’t have a BO problem - please don’t think I’m saying that about her. ---

Well, you’re talking days of accumulation of odors, mostly of BO and rancid grease, Honey. I’m talking about a clean, fresh scent of cooking burgers layered over the nice, natural scent of a fairly recently showered woman. Two entirely different concepts. I agree yours is gross. ---

It’s not nearly as bad now as it used to be,…pre-management days at McD’s, I went home smelling like eggs and big macs every day. ::shudder:: At least now I rarely work in the kitchen, so my food exposure is minimal As a result of all these years in the business, I shower compulsively. We’re talking 3 showers/day, minimum. I refuse to smell like a cheeseburger. I’m big on the idea that people shouldn’t smell like food as well. And Dave, isn’t it bad enough we end up in all the same sex threads, now you have to drag me in via vanity searches? 🙂 If you really want, after our initial meeting, I’ll let you test out your aprhodesiac theory…I insist on being freshly showered for the minidoope though 🙂 ---

Just in case anyone cares, “Perfume” is also the basis for the Nirvana song “Scentless Apprentice”. Cobain was apparently a huge fan of that particular book as well. More useless trivia later. Stay tuned… ---

Really good thread, Davebear. And the OP is really fine! You all amaze me. The book _Perfume_ is on my table just waiting to be read. I don’t have much to add but this: Thirty years later and six thousand miles away, I still remember the scent of sunlight on his skin. ---

Okay I did not read all 37 posts but I gotta jump in. I know EXACTLY waht you mean Davebear…the love of my life, we can only get along for so long and we have to go our seperate ways but we have been sleeping together for years and no one, NO ONE smells like he does…amazing. It isn’t cologne or shampoo. Honesly I prefer him au natural. It’s this musky scent that smells like cuts grass or natural man but I even love the smell of his sweat. I can’t be near him without wanting to reach out and lick him…okay wait TMI but anyway. I obviously can’t really describe it in words except that it provokes incredible emotion. Feelings of sex, love, contentment, safety…it’s all right there and I have also been in that “I am not going to wash this for a week” stage (okay admit it all of you, how many times did you go back to that article and take a huge whiff?) And when you did, all those memories of being in that persons arms came flooding back and your pulse raced and your emotion flooded and for a split second you were drifting on that sea of passion…THAT is what sex (infatuation/love) smells like. ---
