Does this really count as schadenfreude? I always figured that sf involved laughing at someone else’s “misfortune.” It’s not really misfortune when criminal conduct is involved–they were acting deliberately and they’re just getting called on it. As opposed to sf which would be more like laughing at someone who forgot their umbrella on a rainy day.

Where do you think Brisbane would fit by population in the list given by Little Plastic Ninja of big cities ie Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio? Or Orlando for that matter? You might be surprised. Of course these sorts of statistics depend on what you include (city, greater metropolitan, region etc).
Orlando has a metro population of 2 million, so it’s about the same size as Brisbane. I wouldn’t call it a big city.
Houston and Dallas are considerably larger- upwards of 6 million. Austin and San Antonio are smaller than Brisbane, admittedly.
