# The science of poop!

I had a Dr. years ago who was a little bit obsessed with the science behind poop. He was the best Dr. I have ever had by far. He really appreciated my interest in his obsession, and we had some great conversations. If you are a new patient of his, he would quiz you mercilessly about your poop. He claimed people always lie about things that matter, but poop doesn’t lie. Do you think modern Dr’s pay enough attention to this? We had talked about making a sample kit with all the different types of poop that patients could pick from when identifying their own.

FWIW, there are smart toilets that will examine your stool to extract health information.

If you’re interested in poop, here is a recent 2.5 hours from _This Podcast Will Kill You_ talking about the medical side of poop. They do talk a lot about the differences in how poop looks and what that can mean.
