All sane and decent people will agree that Futurama’s lovable and pathetic Zoidberg is the greatest supporting character in the history of television. What’s not to like about the Zoidmaster? His voracious appetite. His asperger’s syndrome-cum-nerdliness. His Curly-like panic sounds. His propensity for referring to himself in the third person. His total ineptitude as a doctor, or as anything. His mood swings. Zoidberg is the very personification of a neurotic twit, if that twit happened to be an anthropomorphic lobster. Last night Zoidberg made be fall of the bed with laughter. Twice. Do you love Zoidberg? What’s your favourite Zoidberg moment? ---

I love Zoidberg madly. I would like to drench him in butter sauce and suck his toes. My favorite Zoidberg episode is “Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love?”, in which he returns to his home planet seeking a mate. “Love? That word is unknown here. I’m simply looking for a female swollen with eggs to accept my genetic material.” ---

He’s a great character, but the “poor” schtick got beaten to death as the series progressed. Still, I loved him at Roswell in 1947. “I’m not hearing a no…” All hail Zoidberg, master of the box! ---
