Welcome to the SDMB Zoo! This Zoo is owned jointly by Cecil Adams and Ed Zotti, and is run and operated by our wonderful administrators and moderators. The SDMB folk are the inhabitants (i.e. _the animals_) of the zoo! The lurkers are the people whom visit the zoo. Actually, most of the time I am camoflaged, pretending to be a tree branch. This way I can sit and watch and not be in the way and laugh at everything happening around me. _ **You can’t see me; I’ve got my eyes closed** _ ---

::sigh:: I guess if I went with anything other than what my username suggests I’d seem hypocritical. _But I don’t wanna be a frog!_ What a lame animal for a zoo. "And here we see the great and ferocious grizzly bear. And on your left are the big cat cages where you will find such dangerous animals as the lion, tiger, and the fastest land animal, the cheetah. And over here we have a frog. Frogs can swim and they catch insects with their tongues." If no one objects, I’d like to be a grizzly bear. Or maybe a polar bear. Being a frog at the zoo just sucks. ---

Actually, the frogs were one of the more popular animals at our zoo back home - the giant marine toad (okay, a relative of the frog) was pretty cool, once you realized it wasn’t a just a lumpy rock, and the itty-bitty colorful poison-dart frogs were really neat to look at, especially when the tour guide told us about the horrible agony their toxins could cause. Frogs are cool. ---

Okay, you guys convinced me to be a frog. I’m a **Phylobates terriblis** - a poison frog from the rain forests. “The poison (toxin) of the frogs comes out of pores in the skin. The poison frogs are also called poison-dart frogs because some of the Amerindian tribes use them to poison their darts with. Not all poison frogs are deadly, only 3 species are very dangerous. Of those 3 is the Phylobates terriblis the deadliest.
