# The search feature has been nerfed again

It seems that in the past day or two, the search tool was changed to search only within the last six months, by default. There is also no longer an “Any Date” option. I can select “10 Years” and “Newer”, but this board is nearing that limit. When was this changed?

[**TubaDiva** explains it here.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=10930566#post10930566) I’d noticed that Any Date was gone; she describes it as “not useful” but I think it’s actually the most useful. I’ll suggest that it be put back in.
