What, you mean we can’t just beg for smilies and have someone else design them? I mean, we clearly need _Detatched/Suspicious_, _TMI/Gross_, and _Geek_ smilies, but I don’t have the design skills. 😉 ---

Can we redo the “embarrassed” smilie while we’re at it? This :o just doesn’t look like “embarrassed” to me, it looks more like “bored.” ---

I’ll say this again - anyone can resubmit one of the smilies from the previous voting period. But just posting here and asking “I wish we had a smiley that shows this emotion” is going to have zero effect on the submissions included in the next poll. ---

I think **Dooku** has a _great_ idea. Somebody should redesign the :embarrassed: smiley and submit it for the poll. If that option is elected, it replaces the old one instead of being a new addition. Notwithstanding the fact that this kind of input has zero effect on the poll. Also, is there ever going to come a point in the “Great Smiley Elections” where we start replacing instead of adding smilies? I believe that idea came up in previous discussions… ---

For the life of me I can’t understand the popularity of some of the smilies in the last poll. A smilie is supposed to express an _emotion_ for heaven’s sake. Disregarding how well they might be drawn, I fail to see how the proposed hijack, tinfoil hat, Cecil, or even smashie expresses an emotion. Thank goodness smackie won last time. I’m not a huge fan of smiles myself, but at least smackie makes sense. I recognize the futility of suggesting a smilie without actually creating one for submission… but I would use a smilie that expresses “I bow down to your wisdom and knowledge”. ---

I’ll never vote for a barfing smiley. I much prefer to say “where’s that barfing smiley when you need it” to actually having the smiley. ---

We’d need special software to generate ballots with randomly shuffled content, and to disregard votes from users who didn’t vote on all pages. Codes of old smileys have to be kept, to properly display old threads. I don’t think the current software can distinguish between active and disabled smileys in new posts. Once it’s installed, we keep it - choose wisely. ---
