Sure, maybe for you fancy dancy big city folk… but for the pork festival in Tipton, the cookout in my back yard, and the dressing on our favorite 36th President’s salad… the dregs from a bottle of Wishbone does pretty darn well.
Oh, I make a marinade for pork chops and chicken that is essentially Italian salad dressing, too. The reason I don’t use actual Italian salad dressing is that I never have it around (I don’t really eat a lot of salad, and I don’t much like the bottled stuff.) If I’m at someone’s house helping out to grill, though, Italian dressing is fine by me. Italian dressing is a pretty well-known tried-and-true marinade standby.
