[/QUOTE] If you want it badly enough, the thread will reveal itself to to you. You must not really want to find it, or believe you can find it. You’re obviosly not trying hard enough. It’s human nature to blame externals for our shortcomings, like this so-called “search feature.” It’s not about the search feature, **lissener** , it’s about you. The sooner you accept that and try to change whatever it is that’s inside you that prevents you from finding that thread, the sooner you will be on the road to health, wealth, and instantaneous thread recall. ---

I really love the way it makes every disaster and illness the fault of the sufferer- if you (the people of Rwanda, anyone with cancer or ebola or in Sarajevo or the Holocaust) weren’t so _negative_, and didn’t will these bad things, then the bad things wouldn’t happen to you. I hate the book with fiery wrath. I also hate Esther Hicks _Ask and it is Given_, because it’s the same basic idea. And _The Master Key_, and anything else that sells the same ‘the universe wants to make you selfishly happy and if you’re miserable it’s your own fault’ crap. ---

It’s appealing to be able to blame people for their own misfortunes too, because if people are to blame for bad things happening to them, that means there’s a way to prevent bad things from happening to you. It gives them a way to feel like they are in control of something even though they really aren’t, just like superstitions like carrying around a rabbit’s foot for good luck. Also, it means you don’t even have to feel sorry for people who have bad lives, because it is their own fault. And if you get an excuse to avoid people whose lives are not going well- even better! Spending time with those people is depressing, after all. ---

Not too long ago I realized one reason I was totally burned out was that I had one too many part time jobs (Now I just have two & a full time job). Anyway, since quitting work at the bookstore there’s a lot of things I miss - the nice customers (there were some), first grab at new books & mags, the discount, the paycheck. BUT it is all worthwhile because now I don’t have to smile & be polite while selling Ann Coulter books or “The Secret”!!! yeah, we sold a ton of em. and a little bit of me was dying every time. I so wanted to tell the customer “you know this is crap, don’t you?”… ---

**The Secret** recently helped end a relationship I was in. We were eating dinner making conversation when she brought up this “new fantastic video” she’d watched. I thought, “terrific, I’m in the film industry, this is a conversation I can contribute to.” Then she mentioned that it was **The Secret**. I have very little patience for things like this so I gave myself a grace period of about a week and broke up with her using some BS ‘growing apart’ excuse. I know I’m a jerk, when it comes to relationships I’m Seinfeld to the nth degree. ---
