Since there’s so many more choices than just pie, I don’t see why this is the case.
Or, to put a stake in the food metaphor before it gets out of hand: why is poor Simpsons preferable to no Simpsons? Why watch something that isn’t good, even if there is other crap somewhere on the dial that’s worse?
This episode had everything that’s been typically wrong with The Simpsons for 5 or 6 seasons now. They need to fire all the writers, rehire James L. Brooks and let him hire new writers.
The problem is the show used to be written from the inside out. IOW the characters defined the comedy. It flowed naturally from within them and the situation they were put into.
Now its done backwards. They think of a bunch of goofy gags and just jam them into the characters & situations regardless of how badly they don’t fit! I mean:

[li]First Bart is magically a jazz drumer savant! What?[/li][li]Then he appears to be in an unfunny, too long White Stripes video parody for no reason! Huh?[/li][li]Then Lisa is jealous, been there-done that (dozens of times!)[/li][li]Then Lisa gets a puppy to feel better! Are you kidding me?![/li][li]Then all of a sudden she has zoo animals! I mean, WTF?!?[/li][/ul]
Looks like Fox is making the manatees write both Family Guy and The Simpsons…
Do you think that there is anyone who’s seen either show who doesn’t understand that the two are different? Clearly AuntiePam understands that they are two different shows with a large overlapping fanbase, so rather than start a whole new thread to ask a question she chose to ask it here. You had several courses of action open to you. You could have answered the question. You could have ignored the question. Or you could have done what you did, which was act like a jerk and derail the thread and continue to dearail the thread.
I mean honestly, was her offense so great that it required the vitriol of your repsonse?
