There was also the Yellow Submarine stamp. Didn’t show the Beatles characters, but it showed the submarine itself.
I was thinking about the Cat and his Seussian cohorts, but the Yellow Submarine slipped my mind- probably because the stamp was meant to represent the Beatles as a whole, depicting the animated Submarine was a clever way to get around the USPS restrictions on depicting living persons on stamps. (The UK released some stamps of Beatles album covers last year- British stamps are allowed to depict living persons, but only if they are not the main focus of the stamp.)
Or if they’re members of the royal family.
