Last night the Simpson episode where Lisa is President and she sends Bart to Camp David was shown in NYC. There is a box of Bill Clinton’s porn magazines there. Today on the news there was a story about how a Secret Service guy was fired because he called a radio show and talked about Camp David and Bill Clinton’s porn magazines there, including the Hustler with Paula Jones in it. Is that strange or what? ---

No more so than they did Bush. Real Bush on TV: I want Americans to be less like _The Simpsons_ and more like _The Waltons_. Bart: We’re just like the Waltons–we’re sitting around waiting for the Depression to end. What I resent is how they stole so much of that Homer character directly from my life and haven’t paid a dime in royalties! ---

I did enjoy the ep when Mr. Bush “guest starred.” _Its just like that Noriega thing. Now he and George are the best of friends._ And… _Bar…we can’t show any weakness in front of the Russians. George…_ A good episode. ---

Makes you wonder how quickly they can edit. I’m guessing they could technically add something to the background or voiceover on the day it’s shown. Why not? They edit the weather map hour by hour. ---

I wasn’t aware of that news. Thanks for posting it. I also remember there being a Soylent Green refence in that episode, where Homer offers a box to Ralph and he says “Isn’t that made of people?” or something like that. I sure hope we don’t have food made of people in the future. ---

Well remember the Super Bowl ep, the part when Homer/Moe/Wally are covering their mouths, b/c they had to edit the stuff in? (The names of the football teams b/c they didn’t know who would be in the super bowl, and the names of the president and his wife because they weren’t sure if Clinton would remain in office or not…) ---

I think the Simpsons must have spies in the White House (“I am not the acting President”). The Super Bowl voice overs were done very poorly. ---

In the episode “Homer’s Enemy”, Homer got a new co-worker, Frank Grimes, or “Grimey” as he like to be called, who was aghast at Homer’s lack of professionalism. One of Grimey’s annoyances was the fact that Homer didn’t do any work because someone else would do it instead. There’s a woman at work with the same problem. She screws up everything. There used to be two guys who found it easier to fix her mistakes for her rather than making her fix it herself. They’re gone, she’s not. Remember the scene at the kid’s power plant contest where Grimey snapped? THAT’S ME!! ---

At this Simpsons website, there was a whole thing written about that. How in real life, Homer Simpson would be really poor and even though the Simpsons are always complaining they are strapped for cash, etc.- they are really quite lucky to have a four bedroom house with two cars, and three kids that they can feed and adequately clothe. Really, poor Grimey does get the shaft…even though its rather hard to identify with him. He works his arse off and Homer slacks off and gets to go to the moon, tour with the Smashing Pumpkins, win a grammy…
