Yeah I got the thanksgiving event this morning. Looks like we’re going to be tapping turkeys roaming around in our Springfields. I’m just completing the preliminary quests now so I’m not sure how big of an event it’ll be. But I’m guessing a week or two, then the Christmas update will probably drop. I never got my 20 donuts for the last shopkeepers challenge, so I just bought as many wailing and biohazard walls as I could, then forced an update. Meh. ---

Just make sure you put your characters on task manually, not sending all through the employment office. You’ll see a few “hey, what’s that?” tasks on people’s regular skins. Burns, Maude, Rod, Todd. ---

Neither is the one turkey that I guess we got last year or the year before. That really pisses him off. ---

I haven’t seen that turkey in a few days so I don’t know if he’s just wandering around and I miss him or if the update tucked him away for now. It looks like the tapable turkeys are a little different but it’s still easy to hit other turkey-like critters. In an interesting coincidence today, I brought donuts into work and one of them looks like Homer’s pink donut with sprinkles. Hell yeah I ate that one. ---

I wasn’t all that impressed with the T-Day prizes when I saw them after the update dropped, but I have to admit that the Turkey Stuffer that I got tonight is kinda funny. Also, I haven’t been neighborly for awhile, but I saw that ZipperJJ had been visiting, so I walked over to her town and got a doughnut out of the deal. Thanks, Z! ---

Thanks, Z! ZipperJJ has been my lucky charm. I’ve gotten like 4 donuts from her/him since I maxed out friend points a long time ago. I just got a Lard Lad Donuts from the mystery box! I’ve only gotten 2 good prizes from the box, and I don’t even remember what the other one was, it’s been so long. Even cooler is I won the Christmas skin for it during the tap ball event, so that’s all ready to go. I’ll probably put up my Christmas decorations this weekend. ---

So far this seems to be going a bit faster than the last event. I seem to be able to get each goal in a day or three (so far). But I have noticed that their idea of ‘your town is overrun with turkeys’ and mine are a bit different. Whenever it says that I’m expecting to go out and find 20 or 30 of them and there only seem to be 4 or 5. Also, I put that other turkey (for a few years ago) in storage. I got sick of tapping it it constantly. ---

Black Friday is supposed to kick off at 8gmt. The speculation is that it’ll be like last year. A bunch of stuff is sale only at specific times. X at 8, Y at 9, Z at 10. They’ll rotate around a few times so if you miss it one window, you should get a chance later. It’s supposed to be buy for full price and get donut rebates. The prices aren’t that great, but if there’s someone you want anyway, it’s a good time to snag them discounted. I might get Akira or Sherri and Terri, depending on how much.
