The disarming the bomb as the timer counts down. The bomb is always disarmed with a second remaining on the timer. This is a scene that is supposed to be suspenseful, but because we’ve seen it a thousand times and know the end result, it is entirely without suspense. Gee, do you think the bomb is going to go off and kill James Bond? He didn’t die in the last 30 movies made since the Kennedy administration, but maybe this time he’ll actually die.

And no bad guy ever things to use differnet color wires that what the schematics call for.

This was cleverly played with in _Galaxy Quest_ (the timer on the ship’s stardrive which was going to explode actually cannot go below three seconds, I think it is) and _The Abyss_ (the hero is told very clearly to cut a wire of a particular color to disable a nuke that’s about to go off, but can’t tell which is which in the blue light of his underwater lantern, so he guesses… correctly).

[QUOTE=Elendil’s Heir]
My most annoying movie cliche: Tough Guy walks away from a house, a car or something else which either looks OK, or is already on fire. It then explodes impressively, and Tough Guy keeps walking toward the camera, not looking back or even flinching. Ooooo, he’s tough. :rolleyes:

She-Devils do that shit too, while grinning maniacally.
