I reported the UNICEF Smurf attack when it originally happened [two years ago](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=339080&highlight=smurfs+unicef). My coverage of the event made Threadspotting and lead to a lot of Smurf war jokes. Truly, war is smurf. ---
